Our crew arrives early to start removing the existing roof down to the decking/plywood. It’s vital to reach the plywood because some contractors cut costs by reusing existing underlayment, which may not be durable and doesn't allow for the replacement of rotted wood. After the tear-off and ensuring the wood is in good condition, we install the roofing system components beneath the shingles. This includes applying the ice and water barrier along the eaves and valleys, synthetic underlayment across the rest of the roof, drip edge, and replacing roofing accessories like pipe collars, vents, and flashing.

Once the roof is "dried in," we begin the shingle installation. We start with a starter shingle at the bottom of the slope, adding support and protection against wind lift—a step some contractors skip to save money. With the starter strip in place, we proceed to lay the shingles and complete the roof installation.
